When our co-founder, J.T. Bramlette, returned home in February 2025 after serving 63 months in the federal prison system, he carried more than the weight of that experience. He carried a blueprint. Having watched his own family struggle through a maze of disconnected websites, confusing payment portals, and scattered communication platforms just to stay connected, he knew the system was broken — and he knew exactly how to fix it.
But he also knew he couldn't do it alone.
He reached out to a good friend and fellow entrepreneur, Steve Urry, and together they assembled an exceptional team to turn that blueprint into reality. What started as a personal mission became a shared one — a platform designed by people who genuinely understand the problem, built for the families who live it every day.

With county jail coverage live across 14 states — from California and Texas to Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania — and new counties coming online every month, InMato delivers the kind of technology this space has never had — and the kind these families have always deserved.

A Message From Our Founder
When I entered the system in April 2021 to serve a 63-month sentence — time that included stays across several different jails and facilities as I was transferred through the process — my own family experienced firsthand what millions of others face every year. Every move meant a new website for phone calls, another for commissary, another for messaging, another for tablets. Each with its own login, its own process, its own confusion. Something as simple as finding out where I was, let alone helping me, became an exhausting series of phone calls and searches.
As an entrepreneur, I couldn't ignore the problem. I believed there had to be a better way.
That's why we created InMato — a single platform designed to simplify the experience for families navigating incarceration. Payment portals and messaging weren't the only source of chaos. Not knowing when a hearing was scheduled, or spending days trying to reach an attorney for a case update, added its own layer of stress. That's why InMato also offers optional court case notifications, helping families stay informed without constantly chasing attorneys or waiting for returned calls.
I can't change what brought me to prison, but I can use what I learned there to build something that makes life a little easier for the families walking that road today. If InMato can reduce confusion, ease stress, and help people stay connected when it matters most, then that experience has been transformed into something that serves others.
